The Mescaleros was formed as a result of Joe Strummer's work with the drummer Paul Cook in the recording of the soundtracks of Tunnel of Love and Question of Honour. The band played its first training on June 5, 1999 in Sheffield and from that moment began a long tour by the United States and Europe.
Later, the band signed with Californian label Hellcat Records and released his first album, Rock Art and the X-Ray Style. The later shows of the tour included several classics from The Clash as well as the band's songs. After alignment The Mescaleros reform issued its second album, Global a Go-Go. This time, the shows of the tour to promote it also included classics like Clash "London Calling" and "Rudie Can not Fail" and the reggae classic "The Harder They Come" and "A Message to You, Rudie" the song "Blitzkrieg Bop" by Ramones with which the group closed its concerts as a tribute to recientemete Joey Ramone died.
As already shown in The Clash, Strummer experimented with many different musical genres such as reggae, jazz, funk, hip-hop and country well, of course, punk rock. The group was also the protagonist of the documentary Let's Rock Again by Dick Rude and his songs were used for the movie Black Hawk Down and Mr & Mrs. Smith.
On November 16, 2002, Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros played a concert to benefit the fire of London in the Acton Town Hall. In this recital Mick Jones, former guitarist of The Clash, Strummer joined on stage for the first time in nearly 20 years to play the songs "Bankrobber", "White Riot" and "London's Burning." Shortly thereafter, on November 22, The Mescaleros last played a show in Liverpool. A month later, Strummer died of heart failure when the group was recording the album Streetcore. The album was released posthumously on October 30, 2003.

In 1996 they recorded their second sensational album, "Pinkerton," a distinctly self-produced album of intimate and sorrowful grading, much more experimental and rough your first album, with more strident guitars, lyrics of greater significance emotional and powerful instrumentation. The melodies were still first rate, based on the maximum expression of the feelings of their leader afflicted composer Cuomo.
The album, one of the best exponents of the so called "Emo Rock" is one of the highlights of his career but did not get the high trade performance of its predecessor, due to lower marketability of its splendid choice of themes and one of his pieces ore attractive ("El Scorcho") as the first single. "Tired of Sex", "Why bother?", "Across the sea", "The good life" or "Pink triangle" are some of the most outstanding cuts. After this work
bassist Matt Sharp, manager of the harmonies Cuomo, left the group to focus with The Rentals. The manager would replace him in Weezer Mickey Welsh.

The group was formed February 14, 1992 in Los Angeles, California by Rivers Cuomo ( vocals and guitar), Matt Sharp (bass), Patrick Wilson (drums) and Jason Cropper (guitar). At five weeks gave their first concert, opening for Dogstar, the band of actor Keanu Reeves. Continued to give concerts at the scene of Los Angeles to sign with Geffen Records.

In August 1993, Weezer went to New York to record their first album, which became known as The Blue Album, under the command of ex-member of The Cars, Ric Ocasek. After finishing recording, Jason Cropper was replaced by Brian Bell, from the band Carnival Art. " The guitars were recorded by Cropper rerecorded by Cuomo and Bell voices. In this disc are hits like "Buddy Holly" and "Undone - The Sweater Song." The album picked up influences like Pixies or the Beach Boys, with a sound that could offer similar to the time bands like Pavement, Sebadoh and Dinosaur Jr. The Blue Album is one of the most successful albums of the 90s and has sold more than 3 million copies U.S.

Thirteen songs that recall a glorious past they build a present that does not intend to stop. Sounds are dark, dark sense of melancholy that can be generated in Amen for example, a subject of more than 7 minutes long, with a set of voices included, bells and a few phrases of a cure. There is certainly hope, Damned may stop or more sexual obsessions of some desire to stick a good turbinate but all framed in a lyric that even if they seem, are fun. Song.com not an example of seriousness or nineteenth-century poetry is punk, there are choruses that border on the stupid, phrases aimed towards consumerism, towards the need to be a hero doing absolutely nothing. Vanian sings nothing to do compared with discs of 70, is afinadito and even gives the time to summon the forces from beyond the piano using finishes giving the cemetery fee so fond of these convicts, Beauty of The Beast will give all these elements, listen to that song with the lights should be a real challenge.
is a good album, if you can not compare with the Black Album but clearly that's the line. The Damned were able to create their own style, it will copy it to anyone with its originality and its departure all the rules have been able to continue generating punkrockerasconvencionales pogos not gothic melodies and thoughtful, not metalheads, and rockers, but punks to 100%. Grande Damned and hopefully someday concrete the long-postponed visit.
